There are several options for this class:
ALEKS is an individualized math learning program. ALEKS delivers precise
assessments of the student's math knowledge, guides the student in the
selection of appropriate new study material, and records the student's
progress toward mastery of goals.
ALEKS + traditional
ALEKS
is the basis for the class, but more day-to-day instruction is
incorporated. Classes meet the entire semester and may move at a slower
pace, depending on the progress of the class.
Traditional Basic Math/Elementary Algebra
This
course is a traditional math class. Class meets the entire semester.
Coursework is taught by an instructor with the use of textbook and
other teaching aids. The ACT Compass test is given to all students to determine their placement in basic math, beginning algebra, or testing out of developmental math all together.
Students
have four semesters to complete their developmental math
requirement. Developmental math must be completed before a
student can register for a college level math class.
Students are pre-registered for a section of developmental math, based on ACT scores and other factors.
