Testing Center

The Center for Leadership, Calling, & Service offers a variety of tests to Trevecca students, alumni and current employees.  Please call (615) 248-1346 to schedule an appointment.

CLEP

CLEP exams are administered at Trevecca by appointment. Appointments can be made by contacting our office at (615) 248-1346. CLEP exams are also offered at other colleges across the United States. CLEP tests can be taken at any location, but students wanting scores posted on their Trevecca transcripts must request that scores be sent to:

Each CLEP exam costs $80.00, a fee which must be paid on the day the test is administered. Also, a testing fee must be paid to the test center. The student may pay by check, credit card, or money order made payable to CLEP.

The Center will receive a copy of the scores approximately two weeks after the test is taken. The scores will be evaluated, and the student will be notified of the results.

  • CLEP is the most widely accepted credit-by-exam program in the country.
  • CLEP exams are available in two categories--general examinations and subject examinations.
  • CLEP tests cost $80
  • Each exam is approximately 90 minutes in length.
  • CLEP exams are computer-based so results are available immediately

Five general examinations are available:

College Composition (6 hours)

Humanities (6 hours)

Math (6 hours)

Natural Sciences (6 hours)

Social Sciences and History (6)

Each general examination covers material taught in courses that most students take as requirements in the first two years of college. Each is 90 minutes long and consists primarily of multiple-choice questions.

Twenty-eight CLEP subject examinations are available. Each subject examination covers material taught in an undergraduate course with a similar title. The following is a list of available subject exams:

Foreign Languages

  • College-Level French Language (6-12 hrs.)

History and Social Sciences

  • American Government (3 hrs.)
  • History of the US I: Early Colonization to 1877 (3 hrs.)
  • History of the US II: 1865 to the Present (3 hrs.)
  • Human Growth and Development (3 hrs.)
  • Introduction to Educational Psychology (3 hrs.)
  • Principles of Macroeconomics (3 hrs.)
  • Principles of Microeconomics (3 hrs.)
  • Introductory Psychology (3 hrs.)
  • Introductory Sociology (3 hrs.)
  • Western Civilization I: Ancient Near East to 1648 (3 hrs.)

DANTES tests are offered in the Center for Leadership, Calling & Service by appointment only. Please call our office at (615) 248-1346 to schedule a time.

  • Costs are $80 to Dantes plus $10 center testing fee
  • The DSST test fee is payable by MasterCard or Visa
  • The TNU portion of the fee is payable by cash, check, money order, or credit card.

DANTES tests are designed to document knowledge obtained from non-traditional sources, such as work, reading, and outside interests; however, some material is available to help familiarize you with test format, sample questions etc.

The fee is $70, payable by cash, MasterCard, or Visa. If paying by debit or credit card, payment must be received prior to test date. Cash or money order will be accepted the day of the test. No checks, please.

The Graduate Record Exam (GRE) is not administered at Trevecca,  but is given at both MTSU and Vanderbilt.

Proctored Exams

Trevecca's testing center is happy to offer proctoring services to students who are enrolled in distance learning programs at other institutions of higher education. There is a $25 fee for each proctored exam. Tests are scheduled by appointment and must be scheduled in advance.
