Fifth Year Master's

Trevecca's Fifth Year Residency Program is designed for students who have a passion for both teaching and learning in the urban school environment. Trevecca's School of Education has committed to closing the achievement gap between urban and suburban school settings through this program. Our vision is to equip and prepare teachers to be able to accelerate achievement for all students.

Through this program you will:

  • Earn a Bachelor's of Arts or Science in Education through the first four years of the program
  • Complete a 180 day residency in an urban public school setting in the fifth year of study
  • Earn a Master of Arts in Education degree
  • Earn licensure in major area
  • Earn endorsement in ELL or SED
  • Complete research with an emphasis on Urban Studies
  • Advance through the program with a cohort of 15 students

Admission Requirements

Admission Requirements:

  • GPA of 3.0
  • A score of 378 on Miller's Analogies Test
  • A score of 12/15 on Writing on Demand
  • Documentation of positive experiences with children
  • A successful score on an admissions interview
  • Three reference forms with acceptable scores
  • All requirements for student teaching completed
