Practicum and Internship
Clinical Practicum and Internship classes will be taken by all graduate counseling and marriage and family therapy students after all core academic classes have been successfully completed. These supervised clinical experiences will enable students to practice intermediate counseling skills within a supervised counseling setting while integrating knowledge and skills learned in previous and current course work. Students will focus on how to use the therapist/client relationship to foster client growth.
The Post-Master's Counseling Internship (PSY 5453) is a post-degree course taken by those who need to satisfy the state of Tennessee's 500 clinical hour licensure requirements for LPC (Licensed Professional Counselor).
