Internship and Practicum Experiences

All psychology majors, as a part of their cirriculum, will engage in a practicum experience.  A practicum is where a student is placed in an off-campus setting in order to get practical experience.  Practicum sites range from mental health centers to programs for first-time offenders to crisis intervention centers.  Psychology majors are also encouraged to involve themselves in at least one internship experience.  The internship is coordinated through the Career and Counseling Center on campus.  Internships are similar to a practicum but usually consist of more hours.
