MOBILE, Ala. – The Trevecca baseball team (1-3) continued their season
with two games in Mobile, Ala. today. Their first game of the day was
against the University of Mobile (3-0) followed by Webber International
(6-2) who is receiving votes and is No. 27 just behind Trevecca in the
preseason poll.
In the first game Mobile scored their first three runs in the fourth
inning followed by one in the fifth and another in the sixth. The
Trojans answered back with five runs in the seventh inning tying the
game at five. In the bottom of the tenth Mobile scored a run giving
them the 6-5 victory.
Trevecca scored their five runs on six hits while committing two
errors. Mobile had six runs on twelve hits with three errors.
Trevecca’s Todd Dunlap (0-1) took the mound in the ninth inning and
took the loss for Trevecca with Craig Ballentine behind the plate. Nick
Bodnar started off on the mound. Luke Brown took over the sixth inning
and Chris Fowler pitched in the seventh.
In the second game Webber scored a run in the first inning and another
in the fourth. The Trojans answered back with a run in the fifth inning
but it wasn’t enough as Webber took the win 2-1.
Barret Brown (0-1) took the loss on the mound for the Trojans with
catcher Craig Ballentine. Trevecca had one run on three hits committing
only one error, while Webber had their two runs on four hits with one
error.
