NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Trevecca (8-6)
hosted the Saints from Siena Heights University (0-4), finishing the
four game series sweep on Saturday afternoon.
Game one saw Nick Bodnar (1-1) take the mound for the Trojans. Freshman
Justin Mundy called the pitches for Bodnar leading Trevecca to the 12-0
victory. Paul Piennette (0-1) took the loss for the Saints. Shaun
Cozart was 3-for-3 in the game with a double, two runs, three RBI, and
a stolen base. Chad Hitchcock was 2-for-3 with two runs, an RBI, a
walk, and two stolen bases; and Bodnar threw the complete game shutout,
allowing only six hits and fanning four.
In the second game, Barret Brown (2-1) took to the hill for Trevecca
with Craig Ballentine behind the plate. Trevecca scored four runs in
the bottom of the fourth inning, en route to the series sweep of Siena
Heights with a 4-0 win in the final game. Kris Ruderer was 2-for-2 in
the game with a run, two RBI, a walk, and two stolen bases. Brown
defeated Peter Thomashefski (0-1), throwing a complete game shutout,
allowing one hit and one walk, while setting 11 Saints down on strikes.
