NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Trevecca (10-6) hosted Bethel College (Tenn.) (0-2) for two games on Friday, taking both games from the Wildcats without allowing a run.
Nick Bodnar (2-1) took the ball for the Trojans in the first game with Craig Ballentine behind the plate. Trevecca scored two runs in the bottom of the third inning thanks to a 2-run double by Kyle Jackson, and another run in the fifth on a Shaun Cozart RBI double. Bodnar threw his second consecutive complete game, walking one, allowing six hits, and fanning four. Josh Langley (0-1) took the loss for the Wildcats with Brandon Polk handling the catching. Trevecca scored three runs on six hits without committing an error, while Bethel managed only six hits with one error.
Game two saw Luke Brown (2-0) take the hill and again the Trojans took control early, pulling away to the 6-0 victory. Brad Coon was 2-4 in the game with a double, a triple, two runs and an RBI. Brown and Hunter Norton combined their effort into a shutout, allowing only two hits. Blake Fawcett (0-2) took the loss for the Wildcats, who used five different pitchers in the fifth inning, and Ben Carmack caught the game.
