FLORENCE, Ala. – Trevecca (11-7) fell to the University of North Alabama (10-1) Tuesday afternoon by a final score of 12-3.
The Trojans took an early 1-0 lead on a Stipe Miocic RBI single in the
top of the first inning, but UNA took a 5-1 lead after scoring three
unearned runs in the bottom of the fifth inning. Trevecca scored two
more runs in the next two innings but UNA responded with seven more
runs to take the 12-3 win.
Trevecca’s Barrett Brown (2-2) took the loss. Brown was relieved by
Michael McGee in the sixth inning, Rollin Sterritt in the seventh, and
Chris Fowler in the eighth. For UNA, Matt Hancock started the game with
Shane Chappell (2-1) earning the win in relief. Brock Hunton (5th and
6th innings), John Ferguson (7th inning), and Cory Kroeger (9th inning)
also pitched in relief.
Trevecca scored three runs on eight hits and committed three errors while UNA tallied 12 runs on 13 hits and three errors.
