AIKEN, S.C. – Trevecca (15-7) topped Brevard College (4-14) with a 18-4 victory. The game was played at USC-Aiken’s Roberto Hernandez Stadium. The win is Trevecca’s 13th win in their last 14 games.

Brevard (N.C.) scored a run in the top of the first, but the Trojans tied it with a run in the bottom of the first. Trevecca put six runs on the board in the second to take a 7-1 lead. Brevard cut the lead to four with two runs in the top of the third, but Trevecca matched that number in the bottom half of the inning. Trevecca put the game away with four runs in the fourth. Brevard put a run on the board in the top of the fifth and Trevecca finished the scoring with five runs in the sixth. Trevecca scored 

Barrett Brown (3-1) pitched the complete game and allowed the four runs on just eight hits and walked three. Brown struck out six on the afternoon as Craig Ballentine called the game behind the plate. The offense was provided from several Trojans including Stipe Miocic who was 3-for-5. Miocic produced eight RBI and scored two runs with a grand slam and a triple. Brad Coon took part in the offense with a 4-for-6 performance at the plate that included three RBI and two runs scored. Coon and Bubba Norris also homered for the Trojans. Norris was 3-for-5 at the plate with three runs scored and two RBI. Hunter Fish (1-1) took the loss for Brevard

On Tuesday Trevecca will play Brevard College and NCAA Division II power South Carolina-Aiken at the Roberto Hernandez Stadium at the University of South Carolina at Aiken. Trevecca will face Brevard College at Noon on Tuesday then host USC-Aiken (11-5) at 6 p.m. Trevecca will finish the Spring Break trip in South Carolina with a game against USC-Aiken on Wednesday at Noon. Trevecca’s next home game will be on Friday, March 11 at 6 p.m. (Shelby Park). Trevecca will host North Greenville for a game on March 12 at Noon at Trevecca’s Jackson Field. USC-Aiken is coached by former Trojan All-American Kenny Thomas.
