THOMASVILLE, Ga. – The Trevecca Trojan baseball team (24-9) won their eighth straight game on Saturday, claiming the 13-3 victory at Thomas University (12-13).
Barrett Brown (4-2) took the ball for the Trojans, hurling seven innings, before being relieved by Luke Brown in the eighth. Chris Fowler came in to pitch the ninth, and Craig Ballentine caught the game for Trevecca. Nick Gray (1-3) picked up the loss for the Nighthawks despite tossing a complete game to Trey Mills. The Trojans jumped out early scoring one run in each of the first two innings. Trevecca added two runs in the fourth, two in the sixth, two in the seventh, and five in the ninth, totaling 13 runs on 17 hits without an error, while Thomas scored a run in the second and two in the ninth, managing three runs on nine hits with one error. Cody Willoughby was 3-for-4 on the day, Stipe Miocic was 2-for-4 with four RBI, and Craig Ballentine went 3-for-5 for Trevecca with three Runs Batted In. Bubba Norris hit his fourth home run of the year, a two-run blast, in the ninth, and Brad Coon was 2-for-4 with a double, a walk, and a stolen base.
