JACKSON, Tenn. – NAIA No. 8 Trevecca (14-4) traveled to Jackson, Tenn. to take on Lambuth University (9-5) and lost 69-70.
In the first half both teams played hard keeping the score close until
late in the first half when the Trojans went on a 9-0 run giving them
the 33-29 lead at the half. Trevecca came out strong in the second half
leading most of the half. The Trojans went on an 8-0 run giving them
the 67-60 lead late in the game. With 11 seconds left in the game
Trevecca held a 69-67 lead while Lambuth’s Adam Simpson threw up a
3-point shot at the buzzer giving Lambuth the 70-69 victory.
Eric Price (18) and Jerod Perry (12) were the only two Trojans with
double figures. Brandon Howard had 10 rebounds and two assists for
Trevecca. The team shot 25-61 (41%) from the field, 4-17 (23.5%) from
behind the arc, and 15-19 (78.9%) from the foul line.
