NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Trevecca (9-8, 0-2) played host to Martin Methodist College (12-6, 1-1) Saturday afternoon in both teams' second conference game of the season.

Martin Methodist jumped out of the gates early thanks to guard Derrick Wright who finished the game with 24 points and nine rebounds and gave the RedHawks a 38-29 lead at halftime. The second half saw the Trojans remain even with Martin Methodist as both teams put up 35 points in the second half, but the RedHawks' first half made the difference as Martin Methodist took the win 83-73.

Brandon Howard led the Trojans with 18 points shooting 7 of 10 from the field while Curtis Lewis added 15 points and three assists. Wes Poe tallied 13 points with 8 rebounds and shot 6 of 9 from the field.

Trevecca shot 27 of 57 (47.4%) from the field while Martin Methodist shot 26 of 51 (51.0%). The Trojans were held to only 4 of 21 (19.0%) from the three point line.
