HENDERSON, Tenn. -- Trevecca (9-10, 0-4) dropped their fourth consecutive game on Saturday, this time to Freed-Hardeman University (10-9, 2-1).
The Trojans jumped out early, riding the hot hands of Eric Price and Damien Chisholm to a 45-31 halftime lead. The Trojans continued to widen the lead stretching it to as much as 17 points midway through the second half. Brandon Howard was called for a Technical foul with 9:17 remaining in the ball game, and FHU got the game within 10 points for the first time since early in the first half. By the 7 minute mark, however, the Trojans had built the lead back up to 15 points, at 72-57. But in the final 7 minutes, the Lions went on a 23-5 run, taking an 82-79 lead with 2:30 remaining to take the lead permanently. Eric Price led the way for the Trojans, notching a double-double with 18 points and 10 rebounds. Wes Poe and Rob Garrett also scored in double figures, adding 18 and 15 respectively. Poe and Brandon Howard both had 4 assists, and Poe added 2 blocked shots in the loss. As a team, the Trojans shot 35-60 (58.3%), including 3-8 (37.5%) from deep, but struggled from the line, making only 10 of 17 attampts (58.8%).
