MOORE GYM - Trevecca (11-13, 2-7) took a loss from No. 7 Cumberland University (18-4, 7-1) Thursday night by a final score of 72-79.

The lead changed hands eight times in the first half with the Trojans taking the advantage on a 10-2 run with five minutes left in the half. Trevecca took a one point lead at halftime 40-39 on two Brandon Howard free throws. The second half saw the Bulldogs battle back with a 10-2 run of their own to start the half and take a 49-43 lead. With 7:19 left in the game, a Curtis Lewis three pointer brought the Bulldog lead to within one point, but Cumberland rallied to take a 79-72 victory.

Junior Wesley Poe led the Trojans with 22 points and 12 rebounds for his seventh double-double of the season while senior Curtis Lewis added 19 points with five three pointers. Junior Eric Price tallied his sixth double-double of the season with 16 points and 10 rebounds. Cumberland's Alonzo Evans finished with 35 points and 11 rebounds.
