MOORE GYM - Fifth-seeded Trevecca (17-13, 8-7) faced fourth-seeded Freed-Hardeman (15-17, 7-8) in Henderson, Tenn. in a quarter-final match up in the TranSouth Athletic Conference Tournament.

Trevecca and Freed split the regular season series and finished in a three-way tie with Lyon College for third in the regular season TranSouth race. Lyon and Freed won the tie-breaker for the third and fourth tournament seeds respectively.

The Trojans fell behind early in the first half allowing the Lions to gain a quick 13-4 lead, but they came back and tied the game at 18 on a Curtis Lewis three-pointer. Trevecca shot 12-27 (44.4%) from the field in the first half but couldn't manage to take the lead from the Lions. The teams went into half time tied at 32.

Early in the second half Trevecca took it's first lead of the night when Wes Poe hit a bucket bringing the score to 34-33. Later in the half, Brandon Howard stepped up for the Trojans sparking a 17-5 Trevecca run to give the Trojans their biggest lead of  the night at 62-56. The Lions answered back hitting 4 three pointers but couldn't catch the Trojans, as Trevecca claimed the victory with a final score of 70-68.

Eric Price and Robert Garrett led the team in scoring with 12 points each, while Wes Poe earned his eighth double double of the year with 11 points and 12 rebounds. Curtis Lewis shot 4-4 from the foul line and added 11 points and 5 rebounds. Brandon Howard also showed up big for the Trojans producing 10 points and 5 assists. Trevecca shot 26-59 (44%) from the field, 2-13 (15.4%) from behind the arc, and 16-30 (53%) from the foul line.
