NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Trevecca (6-0)
defeated Campbellsville University (3-2) tonight 77-59. With this win
the Trojans move to 6-0 for the first time in the 37-year history of
the program.
The Trojans took a quick 31-18 lead early in the first and went into
half time with a 46-24 lead. Brandon Howard led Trevecca not missing a
shot tonight shooting 9 of 9 from the field, 2 of 2 from three-point
land, and 2 of 2 from the foul line totaling 22 points. Howard also led
the team with 6 assists and 3 steals. Eric Price added 19 points with 5
rebounds. Wesley Poe had 11 rebounds and 10 points with 2 blocked
shots. Jerod Perry shot 4 of 6 from three point range and added 14
points and 3 steals. Trevecca shot 51.7% (31-60) from the field,
44.4% (8-18) from behind the arc, and 53.8% (7-13) from the foul line.
Trevecca will play in the Southern Polytechnic Classic on November
19-20. The game on Friday with NAIA No. 11 Southern Polytechnic (4-0)
will start at 7 p.m., but will be a delayed broadcast at 9 p.m. on WNAZ
89.1 and 91.5 FM. Trevecca’s game against Shorter College (2-1) in the
Southern Tech Classic will start at 1 p.m. on Saturday. The game was
listed as a 2 p.m. start in previous publications.
