BOURBONNAIS, Ill. – Trevecca (10-1) faced Purdue-Calumet (5-7) in the first game of the Olivet Holiday Inn Classic.
Both teams got off to a slow start, combining for only 16 field goals
in the first half, and Trevecca took a 25-17 lead into the break.
In the second half, the Trojans came out much stronger, taking it to
Purdue-Calumet, and building a 64-35 lead with 5 minutes left in the
game en route to the 67-42 victory.
Brandon Howard (16), Eric Price (14), and Wesley Poe (10) were all in
double figures for the Trojans, with Poe leading the way in rebounds
(8) and Howard pacing the Trojans in assists (4) and steals (4).
The Trojans shot 26-of-53 (49.1%) from the field, 6-of-16 (37.5%) from
long range, and 9-of-16 (56.3%) from the foul line.
Next, the Trojans will face tournament host Olivet Nazarene University (3-4) on Saturday at 3 p.m
