CANTON, Ohio --- The Trojans (4-4) traveled to Canton, Ohio for a battle with NAIA Division-2 No. 5 Taylor University (8-2) in the Marriott McKinley Grand Classic at Malone College.

Taylor took the lead early in the first half, but Trevecca tied the game with about 5 minutes remaining in the half. The Trojans of Taylor mounted another surge and led 40-30 at the half time break. In the second half, Taylor continued to build their lead and claimed a 90-75 victory.

Brandon Howard led Trevecca with 18 points, while Wes Poe (13), T.J. Horton (11), and Curtis Lewis (10) all scored in double figures. Wes Poe and Eric Price led the team with 5 rebounds apiece. Howard had 3 assists to lead the team. Price and Poe had a block apiece and Horton led the team with 3 steals. Trevecca shot 28 of 51 (54.9%) from the field, 7 of 12 (58.3%) from three-point range, and hit 12 of 19 (63.2%) from the foul line. Taylor outrebounded TNU 28-22. Each team had 12 turnovers. Taylor hit 31 of 52 (71.4%) from the field, 13 of 21 (61.9%) from three-point range, and 15 of 18 (83.3%) from the foul line.
