MOORE GYM --- The Trevecca men's basketball team finished the 2003 portion of the season with a home contest against Reinhardt College.
The Trojans fell behind early in the first half with the Eagles building a 20-15 lead, but Trevecca came alive with a 20-3 run to build a 35-23 lead. Reinhardt, however, managed to whittle away at the lead and the Trojans went to the locker room at halftime up eight, 40-32.
In the second half, Reinhardt battled back with a 13-1 run narrowing the Trojan lead to a single point at 57-56. Trevecca answered with a 10-0 run of their own, pulling away to a 75-63 victory.
Four Trojans finished scoring in double figures. Elliot Cowart led Trevecca with 17 points, Wes Poe added 16 points shooting 8 of 10 from the free throw line. Brandon Howard (12) and Eric Price (11) also finished in double figures for the Trojans.
As a team, Trevecca shot 23 of 42 (54.8%) from the field, 5 of 11 (45.5%) from the three point line, and 24 of 29 (82.8%) from the free throw line.
Trevecca improves to 6-6 on the season while Reinhardt College drops to 4-6 overall.
