COLUMBIA, Ky. - NAIA No. 18 Trevecca (9-5) traveled to Columbia, Ky. to
play NAIA No. 24 Lindsey Wilson College (14-3) on Saturday at 2 p.m.
The first half saw the Lady Blue Raiders take an early lead, but the
Lady Trojans clawed their way back into the game, trailing by only six
at the break, 38-32. In the second half, the Lady Trojans came back
strong taking a 47-46 lead at with 9:24 remaining and holding that lead
for most of the rest of the half. But the Lady Raiders would not go
away, tying the game with a three-pointer at the buzzer to send the
game to overtime at 73-73. In overtime, the Lady Raiders pulled away
for the 81-79 victory.
Jackie Weaver recorded a double-double in the game (28 pts., 11 reb.),
and Jana Reed added 20 points and eight rebounds of her own in the
loss. Ashlie Gilland had five steals for Trevecca, but both Reed and
Gilland fouled out late. As a team, Trevecca shot 47.7% from the field,
50% from behind the three-point line, and 81.3% from the foul line.
