DAYTON, Tenn. - NAIA No. 20 Trevecca (3-4) picked up a come from behind 74-61 win on the road at NAIA Div. II No. 10 Bryan College (4-2) in Dayton, Tenn.
Trevecca fell behind by 17 points in the first half, but closed the gap to just six (34-28) at the break. Trevecca found themselves down by just three (53-50) in the second half and scores 17 unanswered points to take the lead 67-53. From there the Trojans would hold off the host Lions for the 74-61 victory.
Trevecca’s Jana Reed led the team with 19 points and nine rebounds in the post. Ashley Gilland added 16 points and seven rebounds. Kristin Scoggins scored 15 points and added four assists from the point. Mariska Reed added 13 points to round out the double figure scorers for the winners. Gilland and Scoggins both hit 3 of 5 from three-point range. Scoggins was 6 of 6 from the foul line.
As a team Trevecca hit 26 of 49 (53.1%) from the field, 8 of 21 (38.1%) from three point range, and 14 of 26 (53.8%) from the charity strip. Trevecca won the battle of the boards 35-27
