BERRY, Ga. – Trevecca played in a ten
team Chik-Fil-A Invitational at the Coosa Country Club in Rome, Ga. Of
the ten teams, seven finished in the NAIA Top 22 last season. The
tournament, hosted by Berry College, is one of the most elite regular
season tournaments in the country.
As a team Trevecca posted a overall two-day total of (366-349) 715 and
finished 9th for the tournament. Their 349 on Tuesday was the seventh
best total of the day. Southern Nazarene won the tournament with a
(303-300) 603 and Embry-Riddle posted a (318-321) 639 for second place.
Individually Mindy Seigenthaler recorded a (88-80) 168 for 19th (out of
52) overall. The rest of the Trojans scores were Kristi Gearhart 29th
(85-92) 177, Noel Moffett 35th (91-89) 180, Britnay Murray 45th
(104-88) 192, Jenny Mercer (105-103) 208, and Meredith Watkins
(102-108) 210. Siegenthaler’s 80 on day two was the 9th best score of
the day and Britnay Murray’s 88 on day two placed her 24th on the day.
Nicole Wildes of Berry earned the medalist honors with a (74-73) 147
after winning a scorecard playoff with Southern Nazarene’s Jennifer
Butler who posted a (73-74) 147.
Trevecca will finish their fall season in Freed-Hardeman’s Chik-Fil-A
Collegiate Invitational at the Bear Trace at Ross Creek Landing in
Clifton, Tenn. on October 25-26, 2004.
