Kevin Hite begins his fourth season as pitching coach under Jeff Forehand. Hite was given the reins of the pitching staff in 2002, and he has developed the staff into one of the best in the TranSouth. His first year on the job the staff had 28 wins and an ERA of 5.29.  Just one year later the staff produced 35 wins and an ERA of 4.73. Hite continued to work, and in 2004 the staff delivered 44 wins, a 3.43 ERA (7th in the NAIA), 420 strikeouts (7th in the NAIA), 2.2 walks per game (2nd in the nation), and 4.15 runs per game (15th in the NAIA). BJ Jenkins (1.87), Dean Mitchell (1.96) and Todd Dunlap (2.42) ranked eighth, ninth, and 14th respectively in the nation in ERA. Jenkins was third in the nation in strikeouts per nine innings with 11.74, and Dunlap tied for best-winning percentage, posting a mark of 1.000. Hite has coached a total of six all-conference, four all-region, and two honorable mention all-American selections in his short tenure with Trevecca. Two of his former Trevecca pitchers are now in professional baseball (BJ Jenkins, San Diego Padres; Keith Black, Northern League).

Hite had an impressive career of his own on the mound at Cumberland University. He was a first-team all-American in his senior season in 1996. He played in two NAIA College World Series during 1995-96, and he holds several World Series records including: lowest ERA (0.00) and the only player to throw two nine-inning shutouts in the same World Series. He also has the record for consecutive scoreless innings pitched in the World Series at 20 and 1/3. The San Diego Padres signed Hite in 1996, and he spent five years in their minor league system. His career record was 16-16, with a 3.59 ERA and 33 saves.

Hite serves as the camp coordinator for all Trojan Baseball camps and runs the everyday operations for the Trevecca Wellness Center. He also helps with recruiting and travel planning.

Kevin completed his business degree at Cumberland University in 1997. He and his wife Tracie reside in Mt. Juliet.
