Champion is appreciative of the opportunity and has hit the ground running, "I want to publicly thank my Lord for guiding me to Trevecca Nazarene University two years ago as a volunteer assistant. I'm excited about the opportunity Trevecca has given me to lead women's soccer program. I've learned a lot about the program the past two years and 2004-04 will be a fun and challenging new beginning for the women's soccer at Trevecca. The 2004-04 team will have a new look, new excitement, and new attitude on and off the field. I'm thankful for the opportunity to start the new era of women's soccer at Trevecca."

The Trevecca women's soccer program started in 1999 and has produced a 21-45 overall record and a 2-18 in the TranSouth. The program's best season was in 2001 with a 7-11 overall record and 1-3 conference mark. The 2001 team advanced to the conference tournament.
