The Trojans’ third season of play included a competitive, fun, and exciting brand of soccer. The 2002-2003 Trevecca team earned six wins, including its biggest win in school history.
The Trojans opened the season with a 2-1 win at Campbellsville University and two weeks later defeated Asbury College 4-2. On September 28 the Lady Trojans defeated Fisk 19-0 to earn their largest victory ever. Eleven different players scored for Trevecca, including Tori Sanchez and Karen Francis who each posted a hat trick, scoring three goals a piece.
Despite a rash of injuries, which at one point left only one substitute on the bench, TNU persevered and never gave up.
Trevecca posted three wins throughout the remainder of the season. The Trojans defeated Atlanta Christian College 2-1, earned a forfeit victory over North Greenville, and defeated Berea College 2-0, finishing the season with a 6-10 record.
Juniors, Carolyn Pratt and Amanda Thompson earned NAIA Scholar-Athlete honors. Sophomore Tori Sanchez and senior Tawny Brown were named to the All-TranSouth Conference Team. Sophomores Rebecca Tuchez, Lauren Collins, and Tori Sanchez, along with juniors Karen Francis, Amanda Thompson, and Carolyn Pratt and senior Leah Herod, were all named to the TranSouth Scholar-Athlete Team. Individual team awards included the following: most valuable player, freshman goalkeeper Casey Thornton; most Inspirational player, sophomore Lauren Collins; and winners of the Coach's Award, seniors Leah Herod and Tawny Brown. Leading scorer for the Trojans this year was sophomore Tori Sanchez with 10 goals, followed by junior Karen Francis with seven.
