The 2003-2004 season started on a bright note with hat tricks from Tracey Hoover and Karen Francis. Trevecca downed Atlanta Christian College 9-0 in the season opener at Trojan Field. Coming off the win in their home opener, the Trojans went 2-3 in their next five games, establishing a .500 record of 3-3. After dropping their next two by a combined score of 7-3, TNU rebounded, posting back-to-back shutouts in the Berea College Tournament and scoring nine goals during the two days to level their record at 5-5.
TNU struggled to score goals the rest of the season, mustering only four during the five games. During the five-match losing streak, the team continued to play good defense, but the goals did not come until the season finale.
The Trojans bounced back to win their final home game of the season 4-0 over Campbellsville University. Casey Thornton posted her fifth shutout of the season, while Senior Carolyn Pratt scored two goals and led the Trojans to victory in the final home game. Trevecca could not, however, hang on to their momentum, and they dropped their final game of the year at Lyon College.
Not only was the team able to play another season in the new on-campus soccer complex, but it was able to play and practice under the new lights. The team looks forward to more nighttime playing next season.
Karen Francis led the team in goals (8) and points (17), while Lacy Wilkerson led the Lady Trojans with seven assists. The Lady Trojans had five Academic All-Americans this season: Amanda Thompson (Nashville, Tenn.), Lauren Collins (Lakeland, Fla.), Carolyn Pratt (Columbus, Ga.), Karen Francis (Lake Wales, Fla.), and Rebeca Tuchez (Murfreesboro, Tenn.). Along with these five, Kelsey Shockey and Winter Liscano made Academic All-Conference this season.
