HENDERSON, Tenn. – The Trevecca Women’s soccer team (2-6-1, 1-1) continued their season on Tuesday when they traveled to Freed-Hardeman (1-10, 0-2) and earned a TranSouth Conference win with a 3-2 victory.

Trevecca freshman Courtney Haas put the Trojans ahead early with a goal in the 10th minute of play on a corner kick from freshman Lauren Clemson. The Trojans furthered the lead in the 40th minute as sophomore Heather Martin scored on a Rebeca Tuchez pass for a 2-0 lead heading into halftime. Trevecca goal keeper Kim Terry shutout Freed-Hardeman in the first half. The Lions of Freed-Hardeman finally got on the board with a goal from Leslie Tiensvold in the 48th minute. Brittnea Dye tied the game up at 2-2 in the 87th minute with a goal of her own. With time winding down, Trevecca senior Lauren Collins passed to freshman Alma Lara for the game winning goal. Trojan keeper Casey Thornton allowed two goals in the second half but held on in the winning effort while Freed-Hardeman’s Mandy Messer took the loss in goal.
