The 2006-2007 Trojans firmly established the program as a national powerhouse by winning 59 games against only 11 losses and, for the second consecutive year, by advancing to the NAIA National Tournament. Along the way to finishing fifth in the national tournament they collected their third consecutive TranSouth Regular Season Championship, second consecutive TranSouth Tournament Championship, and their second consecutive NAIA Region XI Tournament Championship.
Trevecca set the tone early in 2007, going 12-1 with its only loss coming in a double-header split at NCAA Division-II North Alabama. The conference season started in similar fashion with a dominating performance over conference rival Bethel on the road in a double-header sweep. From those first wins the Trojans never looked back, marking the spring with signature wins over nationally recognized programs like Olivet Nazarene University, NCAA Division-II North Alabama, Union University, Campbellsville, Spring Hill, Ohio Dominican, and Martin Methodist.
During the season the Trojans had win streaks of 7, 8, 10, and 15 games. The team lost only one of eight games it played in the TranSouth and Region-XI Tournaments combined. They gave up just five runs in the two tournaments with four of those in the 4-1 loss to Freed-Hardeman.
Along the way the Trojan offense broke multiple team season records, including wins (59), homeruns (67), stolen bases (163), and runs (443). The pitching staff was equally impressive, holding opponents to a .165 batting average while striking out 499 batters in 453 innings of work.
The team was led by a charismatic senior class that included captains Maria Trapani and Laura Redmon. Ashley McCool and Jennifer Perkins supplied power and clutch hitting throughout the year. Sidney Crews and Diana Eckert added short-game speed and great defense.
Team members won several 2007 individual recognitions: Brittiany Johnson and Jennifer Perkins were voted first team all Americans, and Chelsea Bailey received second team recognition. Additionally, Bailey won the NAIA Adidas Golden Shoe Award, an honor presented annually to the nation’s best baserunner. All-Region XI honors were presented to Chelsea Bailey, Sidney Crews, Brittiany Johnson, Ashley McCool, and Jennifer Perkins. Bailey, Crews, Johnson, McCool, Perkins, Laura Redmon, and Maria Trapani were named to the All-TranSouth Team.
