NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Trevecca (19-0) hosted the Lady Patriots of Cumberland College of Kentucky (2-6) tonight in a double-header and won both games.

In the first game Trevecca scored a quick two runs in the first inning and another in the third. Cumberland scored a run in the fourth but the Trojans sealed their victory scoring four more runs in the sixth inning giving them the 7-1 win. Pitcher Hollie Shane (13-0) took the win for Trevecca with catcher Evyn Terry.

Laura Redmon batted 2-3 with a double alongside Brandy Miller who batted 2-4 with an RBI. Evyn Terry showed up big for Trevecca batting 2-4 with 2 RBI and a double in the game. The Trojans scored their seven runs on 10 hits while committing no errors. Cumberland had their one run on four hits with two errors.

In the second game Cumberland took the lead in the first inning scoring two runs. The Trojans charged their way back scoring six runs in the second inning, two runs in the third, and a run in the fourth giving them the 9-2 lead. In the top of the fifth Cumberland scored a run but Ashley McCool’s home run in the bottom of the inning, her sixth of the year, gave Trevecca three more runs and ended the game with the 8-run rule 12-3. Jennifer Perkins (5-0) started the game on the mound and was replaced by Hollie Shane in the second inning. Shane finished up the second inning then Perkins finished the game recording the win for the Trojans with catcher Maria Trapani.

Jami Toomey batted 3-3 with a double, two runs scored, and three stolen bases. With these three hits Toomey broke the school record for career hits with 185. The record was previously held by Brandy Barnett (94-97) with 183. Evyn Terry batted 3-4 with two doubles and 2 RBI. Ashley McCool went 3-4 with 2 RBI and a home run. As a team the Trojans scored their 12 runs on 16 hits with no errors. Cumberland scored their three runs on four hits while committing three errors.
