NASHVILLE, Tenn. – NAIA No. 25
Trevecca (23-0, 4-0) visited No. 15 Martin Methodist College (21-5,
2-2) for two cold games on Wednesday, with the Trojans upsetting the
RedHawks in both games.
Hollie Shane (16-0) started game one for Trevecca, going the distance
and picking up the win with Maria Trapani behind the plate. The Trojans
scored a run in the first and another in the third, while Shane held
the RedHawks to one lone run in the second inning. Dara May (8-2) took
the loss for the RedHawks with Kristin Pitts handling the catching
duties. Brandy Miller was 2-for-4 on the day, Diana Eckert was 2-for-3,
and Lindsey Howard was 2-for-3 with an RBI. Trevecca scored two runs on
eight hits, and the RedHawks scored one run on six hits. Neither team
committed an error.
In game two, Jennifer Perkins (6-0) started for the Trojans with Maria
Trapani holding down the home plate. Perkins held her ground
allowing only one run in the second inning. The Trojans picked up
a run in the first inning, two in the fourth off a 2-run homer by
Perkins (1), and one more run in the fourth inning. RedHawks
pitcher, Melissa Jones (7-2), fell to the Trojans with Kristin Pitts
taking care of business behind the plate. Lindsey Howard was
2-for-4 in the game, Jennifer Perkins was 1-for-3 with a two run
homerun, and Jami Toomey was 1-for-3 with 2 stolen bases. The
Trojans scored four runs on six hits with one error, while the RedHawks
scored one run on five hits, but committed four errors.
