NASHVILLE, Tenn. - NAIA No. 14 Trevecca (27-2, 6-2) hosted Freed-Hardeman University (16-10, 4-4) today and split the double-header.

In the first game Freed-Hardeman took the lead scoring a run in the second inning. The Trojans came back to score four runs in the third and two runs in the fourth inning. Freed’s April Clayton had a solo home run in the top of the sixth, but it was too little too late as Trevecca claimed the 6-2 victory.

Hollie Shane (19-0) took the win for the Trojans on the mound with catcher Maria Trapani. Brandy Miller batted 3-for-4 with three RBI. Jami Toomey was 2-of-3 with two stolen bases. With those hits Toomey reached the 200th hit of her career. Trevecca scored their six runs on seven hits while committing three errors. Freed scored their two runs in seven hits with one error.

In the second game Freed-Hardeman took the early lead scoring two runs in the first inning and a run in the second. The Trojans scored two runs in the third inning but Freed answered back with a run in the fourth. Trevecca came back to score a run in the bottom of the fourth but it wasn’t enough as the Trojans fell 4-3.

Jennifer Perkins (7-1) started off on the mound for Trevecca and recorded the loss with Maria Trapani behind the plate. Hollie Shane took over in the second inning. Jami Toomey stepped up for the Trojans batting 2-for-3 with two stolen bases. Freed-Hardeman scored their four runs on seven hits with three errors. The Trojans scored their three runs on five hits while committing one error.
