NASHVILLE, Tenn. - NAIA No. 15
Trevecca (28-3, 7-3) hosted NAIA No. 20 Martin Methodist College on
Thursday, earning a split with the RedHawks and taking the season
series three games to one.
Hollie Shane (19-1) started the first game for the Trojans and was
staked to an early 1-0 lead thanks to a run in the bottom of the first,
but Martin Methodist answered with a run to tie the game in the top of
the second inning. The RedHawks added three more in the third, one in
the fifth and another three spot in the sixth, before the Trojans
answered with a run in the bottom of the sixth. Jennifer Perkins came
in to pitch the seventh, and Martin Methodist scored two more runs in
the frame, as the Trojans fell 10-2. Dara May (13-3) took the win for
Martin Methodist. Evyn Terry was 2-for-4 for Trevecca with a double,
while Ashley McCool and Jami Toomey were both 2-for-3. Martin Methodist
scored 10 runs on 14 hits with one error, while the Trojans scored two

Shane (20-1) also started the second game of the double-header, this
time going the distance and picking up the win over Martin’s Melissa
Jones (9-3). The RedHawks scored two runs in the top of the third to
take the lead, but Trevecca answered with a run in the bottom half, as
well as two in the fourth and another in the fifth. Martin closed the
gap to one with a run in the top of the sixth, but that’s as close as
it would get, as the Trojans held on for the 4-3 victory. Evyn Terry
was 2-for-3 in the game with an RBI, and Holly Hatcher was 1-for-2 for
the Trojans. Trevecca scored four runs on four hits without an error,
