NASHVILLE, Tenn. - NAIA No. 15 Trevecca (32-3, 9-3) hosted Cumberland University (8-22, 1-11) on Monday for a pivotal TranSouth double-header and won both games.

In the first game the Trojans scored a quick three runs in the first inning and another three in the second. Cumberland came back with two runs in the third but it wasn’t enough as Trevecca scored four more runs in the bottom of the fifth inning forcing the 8-run rule and giving the Trojans the 10-2 victory.

Hollie Shane (23-1) took the win for the Trojans on the mound with Maria Trapani behind the plate. Shane started off the game then Jami Toomey pitched in the third. Shane came back to the mound during the third inning to finish out the game. Cumberland scored their two runs on three hits while committing three errors. The Trojans scored their 10 runs on eleven hits with three errors.

Jami Toomey batted 2-for-4 with two stolen bases. Lindsey Howard stepped up big for Trevecca batting 2-for-3 with two doubles and three RBI. Diana Eckert also had three RBI.

In the second game of the night Trevecca scored four runs in the first two innings. Cumberland scored two runs in the top of the third, but the Trojans came back to score four runs in the fourth and another two runs in the fifth beating the Bulldogs by the 8-run rule once again 10-2.

Jami Toomey batted 4-for-4 with two RBI. Lindsey Howard led the Trojans batting 4-for-4 with three RBI. Laura Redmon and Ashley McCool each had an RBI as well. Pitcher Hollie Shane (24-1) recorded the win for Trevecca alongside catcher Lindsey Howard. Trevecca scored their 10 runs on 16 hits while committing three errors. The bulldogs scored their two runs on four hits with four errors.

With this win the Trojans have broken the record for most wins in a single season. The previous record was 31 wins set in the 2002-2003 season.
