LEBANON, Tenn. – The Trojans (0-6, 0-1) opened play in the Cumberland
University Tournament Friday falling to Campbellsville (7-4) and
Mountain State (12-2) on two 0-3 sweeps.
The Trojans resumed play in the tournament Saturday morning at 9:00
a.m. as Trevecca took on the host team Cumberland University (6-6).
Trevecca jumped ahead in the first game with a 30-26 victory, but then
dropped three straight games to the Bulldogs 22-30, 21-30, 25-30 to
lose the match.
The final game of the tournament for Trevecca saw a rematch as the
Trojans faced Cumberland University once again, this time for third
place in the tournament. Cumberland earned a 23-30 victory in the first
game, but the Trojans countered with a 30-27 win in the second game to
tie the match at 1-1. The Bulldogs won the next two games 22-30 and
26-30 to take the match and third place finish.
Trevecca finished fourth place of four teams in the tournament and dropped to 0-6 on the season.
