Ensembles are open to all students regardless of major. The Madrigalians is not open to first-time freshmen; however, there are limited openings for male singers who are transfer students.
Open to students and Nashville community. No audition is required, but consent of the director is needed. Larger choral works are performed (Messiah, Elijah, Requiem, etc.) with full orchestra accompaniment. Required ensemble of all vocal and keyboard music majors and minors studying applied. Commercial Guitar performs a diverse range of music from Classic Rock to Contemporary Christian music on amplified instruments. This group consists of guitars (lead, rhythm and bass) as well as a vocalist, keyboard and drummer. Director: Mario DaSilva
Gospel Choir is a vocal ensemble (with instrumental support) that focuses on contemporary and historical "gospel" music as well as contemporary church music. uditions for the choir are generally held in June and August for the following school year. The Jazz Ensemble is comprised of both majors and non-majors that attend Trevecca Nazarene University. It performs both on and off-campus and its repertoire is a diverse selection of traditional and contemporary jazz, Latin, pop, and Christian music. Director Matt Murdock

Excellence in Music: We want to provide a representation of Christ to our listeners through our preparedness and meticulous musicianship, as well as through our passion for the music.
Excellence in Character: We want to provide a representation of TNU as a Christian institution through our Christian witness.
Excellence in Action: We want to provide a positive representation of Madrigalians by modeling servant leadership within the group and throughout the campus.
The 24-voice ensemble is composed of undergraduate students from throughout the United States, possessing varied academic interests with a common love and passion for excellence in a cappella singing.
In addition to numerous church and civic performances, the “Mads” perform in two major events each year: Serenade in Time Series, Opus 22, a joint concert with the Trevecca Symphony Orchestra in the fall, and the spring Madrigal Dinners.
The “Mads” have toured extensively throughout the United States and also have an international focus as they recently conducted singing tours to the British Isles, France and Germany in 1997; Italy, Austria, Germany, Switzerland, and France in 1999; Italy, Austria, Germany, France and Great Britain in 2002.

MUSICAL THEATRE ENSEMBLE:
Musical Theatre Ensemble is an auditioned ensemble in which students prepare either a variety of scenes from Musical Theatre or an entire show. Attention will be given to movement, diction, acting, staging, and vocal interpretation. The class will culminate in a public staged performance. Offered every other spring semester.

Mr. Corey is also active with his own professional percussion ensemble: Matrix Percussion Trio. This trio recently performed for the Tennessee Arts Academy (7/9/07) and was awarded the 2007 Percussive Arts Society Zildjian Family Opportunity Fund grant, to present their multi-cultural percussion program (We Are The World: Percussion Around The Globe) to elementary and middle schools throughout the greater Nashville area. TREVECCA SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA:
The Trevecca Symphony Orchestra has since its inception in 1988 evolved into a full symphonic orchestra. The TSO operates under a five point outline.
Purely volunteer participation by union and non-union musicians, maintaining the integrity of each player's efforts.
Non competitive, friendly atmosphere with no assigned seating (excluding principal players).
Stimulating literature with an eye toward a balance of historical periods.
Detailed rehearsal/performance schedule which provides weekly sequence.
Competent leadership who seeks quality performance within enjoyable rehearsal regimen.

"SPIRIT OF GOLD" MARCHING BAND:
Students at Trevecca are invited to participate in the "Spirit of Gold" Marching band through Vanderbilt University. Students play at all home games and receive an all-expenses paid trip to one away game. For details call the Vanderbilt band office at 343-BAND.
