The mission of Trevecca, for both our commuter students as well as University Terrace Apartment dwellers, is to create an intentional and inclusive environment which provides spiritual support, educational advancement, and purposeful preparations for future leaders within a cohesive community. We believe that your voice adds to our presently developing story.
As we aspire to attain such a cohesive community, we understand that meeting your needs and wants will help us to reach that place. Therefore, if you have any suggestions as to how we can improve, please reach out to us at (615) 248-1245, Jdykes@trevecca.edu, or stop by the Office of Student Development located on the third floor of Jernigan Student Center.
The Commuter Lounge is located on the ground floor of the Mackey building. Within the lounge, you will find lockers, vending machines, a microwave, a coffee pot, a refrigerator, campus news and event information, and a television. The lounge is a place to meet fellow commuters, learn about opportunities for involvement and leadership on campus, as well as just a place to hang out or do homework between classes.
In addition to the commuter lounge, Trevecca is filled with ample common spaces where you are welcome to spend time as well. These include: Abba Java Coffee Shop, The Cube, The Hub, Jernigan Lobby, and Waggoner Library.
The Commuter Council is a group of commuting students that meet to give voice to concerns as well as to plan events and programming to meet the needs of commuting students. If you are interested in serving on this council, please email Jessica Dykes and include your name and the best way to contact you.
Commuter is our newsletter which is published monthly by the Commuter Center Staff. The newsletter is distributed by mail, electronically via email to our commuting student’s mail.trevecca.edu email accounts, as well as posted here on the webpage. Information such as current campus events, upcoming programs and events, and editorials can be found in this publication. If you have an interest in design of publications or guest writing for Commuter, please contact Jessica Dykes. We would love to work with you!
