Student Government Association

Trevecca has had a history of dedicated and talented student leaders, and the 2013-2014 officers are not exceptions to this legacy of excellence. The Trevecca Student Government Assembly (SGA) consists of the Associated Student Body (ASB) officers and the various officers of the four classes (freshmen, sophomores, juniors, seniors).

This group meets every Monday night during the school year in order to discuss issues of importance to the student body, including campus-wide social events, service projects, and spiritual initiatives. SGA works closely with the Office of Student Development, with the help of Matt Spraker, Associate Dean of Students for Community Life.

The Student Government Association of Trevecca Nazarene University is a body of elected students actively representing the diversity of student interests within the Trevecca Community: providing leadership through service.

Hi everyone, I'm a senior Social Work major from Oxford, Mississippi. As I've made my way through my college career, I've noticed how our community has grown just has much as I have. I'm very eager to see what the 2013-2014 year has for us and what stories we will make. I'm more than willing to get to know you and see what walks of life are being made at Trevecca Nazarene University!

Jacob Shackley, TIA Commissioner

Jacob Shackley is a senior from Raleigh, NC. He is studying Physical Education and has a concentration in Health. In his spare time he likes to build relationships with people, play sports, and just getting outside and interacting with others. Shack is ready to lead a team full of great future leaders here at Trevecca. . He really likes involving people in sports all over campus to create one big wolfpack. Some of these sports include: dodgeball, basketball, slow-pitched softball, volleyball, flag-football and several more. He hopes to see you out there participating or cheering on Intramurals.

Chris Zylstra, Darda Editor-in-Chief

Tyler Whetstone, TrevEchoes Editor-in-Chief

Tyler is a senior journalism major from Murfreesboro, TN.
I’m excited because I have the rare opportunity to sit down in front of faculty and administrators every couple of weeks to knock out what news is on campus.  This is the second year I’ve been in charge of TrevEchoes. We preview events and break news by asking tough questions. Most importantly we tell stories based on facts and only facts. We don’t print rumor, and we hold to the truth that ‘Gossip is not more Christian than news.’ Meaning, it is better to have an informed student body, instead of having a student body that spreads rumors.
