Film Studies Program

The Department of Communication Studies at Trevecca offers an emphasis in film studies through its programs in mass communication and dramatic arts.  In addition to coursework in both academic areas, the department also specifically offers two film courses: COM 3700 "Film Theory and Criticism" and COM 3750 "Film History," which are required of all students in the film studies program.

Students who wish to major in the area of mass communication-film are also expected to apply for a semester abroad at the Los Angeles Film Studies Center where they earn 16 credit hours of specialized film training in a distinctly Christian environment.  Academic study at the LAFSC is contingent upon acceptance into that program after application.  For more information about the LAFSC program, please feel free to review the online information on pages 78-79 of the  Trevecca Course Catalog.
