Gary Allen Henecke has been a preacher for 50 years, during which time he served four congregations. At the time of his retirement in 2011, he was the senior pastor of First Church of the Nazarene in Nashville, Tennessee, a position he held for 18 years. For five years during the ’70s, he served as the executive director of the Church of the Nazarene Youth Department at the denominational headquarters in Kansas City, Missouri. He is an alumnus of the State University of Iowa, Olivet Nazarene University, and George Fox Seminary (formerly Western Evangelical Seminary. During his career as a minister, he served on many boards and committees in the Church of the Nazarene, including service as a trustee for three of its universities. Additionally, he has served other Christian organizations. He and his wife, Radean, live in Franklin, Tennessee.
