Trevecca alum Mr. Chad Hitchcock, MSM, PA-C has been appointed to run a new clinic at St. Thomas Heart at Midtown in Nashville. Hitchcock received a degree in biology at Trevecca in 2007 and went on to complete a Master of Science in Trevecca’s Physician Assistant program, graduating in 2011.

Since completing his Master’s at Trevecca, Hitchcock has been working at St. Thomas Heart as a Physician Assistant in the Cardiology department. He began his career working under a physician for his first couple of years at St. Thomas Heart. Five months ago, Hitchcock was appointed to run a clinic for patients with a heart condition called atrial fibrillation, a condition that predisposes people to having a stroke, heart failure, and other serious afflictions. Hitchcock sees anywhere from one to about eleven patients daily.

Hitchcock’s passion to help others began at a young age.

“I always knew I wanted to help people, I just didn’t know in what capacity I wanted to. I decided that I wanted to be a physician assistant and Trevecca provided me the opportunity to do that,” Hitchcock said. “I’m grateful for the things that Trevecca has done for me and my family.”

In his time at Trevecca, Hitchcock was on the baseball team during all four years of his undergrad, and ended up meeting his wife, Christina Hitchcock (formerly Skelly).

“I grew spiritually and got to know a bunch of great people at Trevecca. The PA program is awesome, and it really helped put God in the forefront of how you treat patients,” Hitchcock said. “None of this would have been possible without my experience at Trevecca,” Hitchcock said.
