Students in Free Enterprise start lending team![]()
This effort is also supported by Trevecca's School of Business and Professor Greg Runyan. The lending is facilitated by Kiva, a non-profit website that allows you to lend as little as $25 to a specific low-income entrepreneur. Users choose who they lend to—a baker in Afghanistan, a goat herder in Uganda, a farmer in Peru, a restaurateur in Cambodia, or a tailor in Iraq—and as they repay the loan, users get their money back. Trevecca’s lending team is an effort to alleviate poverty. Once a part of the team, users choose to have a future loan on Kiva "count" towards Trevecca’s team impact, creating a collective portfolio.
