Using Citrix on Windows

You must have a valid TNU-supplied network account user name and password, and you must first install Citrix Receiver. If you have never used Citrix from this computer before, please download Citrix Receiver (See links below). If you have never logged onto your network account, please see Citrix login information.


Citrix Receiver Download

*NOTE: Citrix Receiver allows you to open applications in a web browser at https://lester.trevecca.edu. Alternatively, you may use Citrix without a web browser. See below.


Using Citrix without a Web Browser

  1. Open Citrix Receiver by going to the Start button > All Programs.
  2. It will prompt you to type in a server address. Type in: lester.trevecca.edu, then click Next.

  3. If the Please log on to lester window does not automatically appear for you, click on the Citrix Receiver icon in the taskbar.

  4. Click on the Please log on to lester window.

  5. Type in your Trevecca username in the format of garden\Username, type your password, then press Log On.

  6. If a Citrix Receiver window does not automatically come up, single-click the icon in your taskbar, or double-click the icon in your notifications area (bottom right).

  7. Click on either the + sign on the left, or anywhere in the center.

  8. In this example, we will add SPSS 19. Click on Lab Apps.

  9. Click on SPSS 19.

  10. Once it has been added, a green checkmark will be displayed to the right.

  11. Click anywhere outside of the menu and you will see SPSS 19 has been added.

  12. SPSS 19 is now accessible in your Start button > All Programs.

  13. You can now pin this to your taskbar by dragging it and dropping it to your taskbar.

Using Citrix on Mac OS

You must have a valid TNU-supplied network account user name and password, and you must first install Citrix Receiver. Using Citrix without a Web Browser

  1. Open Citrix Receiver by going to your Applications folder.
  2. It will prompt you to type in a server address. Type in: lester.trevecca.edu, then click Next.

  3. At the Please log on to Trevecca Virtual Apps window, type in your username in the format of garden\Username, type your password, then press Log On.

  4. Click on either the + sign on the left, or anywhere in the center.

  5. In this example, we will add SPSS 19. Click on Lab Apps.

  6. Click on SPSS 19.

  7. Once it has been added, a green checkmark will be displayed to the right.

  8. Click anywhere outside of the menu and you will see SPSS 19 has been added.

  9. Drag SPSS 19 from this window and onto the Dock.

Certificate Error Fix

Download THIS FILE and run it.

Windows XP, Vista, 7 - Use Internet Explorer and Install this. Firefox Users - Once you install this in Internet Explorer, it will work in Firefox.

Mac OS X - Use Safari. When it prompts to "Add" it for keychain access, allow it. You might have to type in the computer's administrator password. Firefox Users - Once you add this in Safari, it will work in Firefox.


Problems?

  • If you cannot logon (network account locked / require password reset), please use the contact information to the right.
  • If you can logon but cannot open applications (nothing happens, cannot open launch.ica, etc.) please try installing Citrix Receiver located under the Using Citrix section.
