The School of Business and Technology (SBT) invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track 10-month position for Director of Graduate and Professional Studies beginning May 1, 2013, or as soon after as is practical.  Candidates must qualify for faculty appointment in the School of Business & Technology in business, information technology, health information technology, healthcare administration or related discipline. 

 

Responsibilities will include providing leadership for all graduate and non-traditional programs offered by the School of Business and Technology.  Working closely with the Dean, SBT, the Dean, College of Lifelong Learning (CLL), and department chairs, the selected individual will become the administrator and champion of the school’s efforts to research, develop, implement, and oversee graduate and non-traditional programs.  Such efforts will include the recruiting and hiring of faculty, assessment, curriculum development, and involvement with related community organizations.  Some teaching load in the programs to be administrated is expected. 

 

Qualifications:  Ideal candidates will possess a doctorate in business or business-related discipline (accounting, economics, management, marketing, finance, etc.), information technology, health information technology, healthcare administration or related discipline. Holding graduate degrees in more than one of these disciplines is a significant advantage.  Holding certifications or other credentials are significant plusses as well.  Preferred candidates are expected to have 10 or more years’ related experience with 5 or more years in higher education.  Previous experience in higher education administration and online education is preferred.  All applicants must have a personal commitment to Jesus Christ. Teaching and professional experience in the noted disciplines are preferred.  Demonstrated ability to administer projects or programs and to work collaboratively with industry user organizations to develop and promote programs is a significant plus.  A demonstrated passion for students and the disciplines are essential.
