Resident Director

 

Qualified female candidates are encouraged to apply for the position of resident director for the 2014-2015 academic year.   This is a twelve month assignment beginning July 1, 2014 and ending June 30, 2015.  RD positions are considered full time positions.  Employee benefits include:  health insurance, an apartment provided for year-round use, board for all dependents living with the resident director during the time the food service is open, tuition remission for the first Master’s level degree related to the job.  Deadline for applications:  April 30, 2014.

 

Qualifications:  Bachelor’s degree required.  A personal relationship with Christ and a commitment to the lifestyle of the University and its theological tradition and mission is a must.   The candidate should have a basic understanding of the developmental needs of college students and of how the residence hall environment plays a vital role in a student’s educational experience.  The candidate should possess

organizational and interpersonal skills including the ability to communicate well with students, to direct residence hall programs, and to follow through with administrative tasks. 

 

Responsibilities: 

1.   Resident Director

The resident director is responsible for encouraging a campus climate conducive to intellectual, spiritual, social and physical development.  They will supervise resident assistants and will be involved in their training and development.  Additional responsibilities will include providing leadership to the residence hall council, counseling with residents on an informal basis within the limits of training and capability, promoting a feeling of pride for the living unit and encouraging residents to have a concern and respect for the rights and privileges of others.

Program Coordinator

Assist in program development and delivery in one or more areas of need in the Office of Student Development, such as spiritual development, multi-cultural student services, leadership development, student activities.
