Art at Waggoner Library
Waggoner Library has many permanent pieces of art that were donated by Trevecca alumni and benefactor, Harold Ivan Smith. Previous showings in the gallery area have included the art of local painter Betsy Karounos, "plein air" painter Michael Gray, and the photography of Trevecca faculty member Dr. Ruth Cox.
Collections
The Online Card Catalog provides access to library collections by author, title, subject, and keyword searches and indicates availability of materials.
The main circulating collection is located on the second floor of the Library. These books may be checked out for four weeks. Your Trevecca ID is your library card.
The Periodicals Collection [current print, bound and microfilm copies] is located on the first floor of the Library. Most of the Periodical Collection is available full text online access through our databases from the library web site, Electronic Resources. Print, bound or microfilm periodicals are non-circulating. There are microform reader/printers and photocopiers available for copying articles.
The Reserve collection housed at the main circulation desk includes books, journal articles, laptops and network cables. Media reserves [DVD, VHS, software or CD’s] are located in the Instructional Resources Center, ground floor of the library. Checkout time for these items vary according to type and professor request. Reserves can be searched in online catalog.
The Archives are located on the ground floor of the Library and are available for use by appointment. Materials housed in Archives include university documents of historical significance and special collections. It is recommended to set an appointment with Archival Asst. Andrea Gales prior to visiting the library.
The Instructional Resources Center is located on the ground floor of the Library. The collections include a juvenile literature collection, teaching aids and kits, elementary/secondary textbooks, musical scores and CD’s, and DVD/VHS collection. Digital still and video cameras can be checked out as well. Computers are available for multimedia production including scanning and software preview. Much of the collection can be searched in the online catalog by limiting to location or material type. Viewing and listening rooms are available.

History of Waggoner Library
Waggoner Library was opened in the fall of 2000. The library is named in honor of donors Don and Zelma Waggoner of South Carolina. Previously the library was located in the Mackey Building, named for longtime Trevecca President, Dr. A.B. Mackey. More about the history of Trevecca Nazarene University is on the Trevecca website.
Interlibrary Loan through Athena allows you to search other area libraries and request materials identified through Waggoner Library at no cost to current Trevecca students and faculty. Forms are available online for current Trevecca students and faculty to directly request a book or article by ILL.
Printing and Photocopying
Waggoner Library has several printing/copying options. All computers are networked to printers. Most require Trevecca network login for access. A color printer is available in the IRC. In addition there are two digital copiers (main floor and ground floor) that require a student ID code for access. There is also one coin operated photocopy machine on the main floor. Printing costs vary.

Special Events at Waggoner Library*
Throughout the school year Waggoner library hosts various special events. Annually the library hosts the Trevecca Author Celebration recognizing faculty research achievement during that school year.
