Media Services in IRC

            The library’s  media resources - music CD’s videos,  DVD’s;  educational software programs and  media production tools - scanner; color printer; digital video camera; poster maker; Ellison die cuts - are housed in the Instructional Resource Center, ground floor of  the library.  The IRC also provides listening and viewing rooms.  The objective of the IRC is to make readily available for inspection, evaluation and implementation, educational materials of the highest quality produced for use with children from preschool through grade 12.  The IRC is where media materials are placed on reserve.


  MARS HILL AUDIO  Provides an assessment of contemporary culture from a Christian 
   perspective. These CD's are available to faculty

            The video collection for the library is housed here.  Two PACs and a copier are available.   Laminating services and transparency production are available.  A list of educational software, new technology, and services can be obtained by contacting Judy Bivens, Instructional Resources Librarian at ext. 1205.

1. The Print Collection Area: 

Includes children and young adult literature collection, teaching aids, K-12 textbooks, and activity books.  These resources are primarily for students enrolled in education classes.

2. Listening and Viewing Area:

Videos, music CDs, and music scores are available here.   There are 3 viewing rooms and 3 listening stations.  One room may be used for videotaping or presentation practice using an overhead.

3. Materials Production Area: 

Includes boxes, kits, charts, Big Books, two Ellison Letter Machines, and manipulatives.  An opaque projector is available for enlarging images.  

4. Multimedia  Production Area: 

Computers are available for previewing educational software and creating multimedia productions. Included in these workstations are scanners, DVD players, CD burners, etc. Digital cameras are available for check out.



 The Waggoner Library Archives houses a selection of historical documents and special collections relating to Trevecca and the Church of the Nazarene.   Materials include print publications as well as pictures and personal documents of past presidents.  Some materials are contained in an environmentally controlled room.   A copier that uses acid-free paper is available for duplicating research materials.
