The library web page provides access to all library collections. By using the Catalog search box on the right hand side of the library homepage you can search the collection by author, title, keyword, journal title, call number and ISSN/ISBN numbers.
Searching for Journal Articles
Database access is restricted to current Trevecca students and faculty.
The Electronic Resources page is your access point to online journal article information. Here you can search for a specific journal by title or you can search the databases by subject or browse databases by name.
Print, back issue, and microfilm copies of journals are located on the main floor of the library. Searching the online catalog by 'Journal title' provides information on available formats and location of journals. The Advanced Search page also allows for journal title searching. Patrons can peruse the current print and back issues of the print journal collection located on the main floor of Waggoner Library. A complete list of all journal titles available in print is available.
Searching for books
You can search for books by authors name, title, keyword and subject headings. The Advanced Search options page allows you to limit your book search by location (reference or main collection); by language; to ebooks; to the Reserve Room and by copyright date.
Searching for other types of resources
The CD collection is housed in the IRC and can also be searched through the online catalog. You would limit your search to material type which is 'Sound Record'.
Children's books are identified in the online catalog with JUV preceding the call number. These books are housed in the IRC, ground floor of Waggoner Library.
Course Reserve items can be displayed by searching the Advanced Search page which includes Reserve searching by entering either the Professsor's name or Course title.
Media and Equipment available on loan to students can be checked out from the IRC on the ground floor of the library. Several MAC computers are located here as well. Video cameras, tripods, digital cameras, screens and overhead projectors are some of the available equipment for loan to current Trevecca students and faculty.
Newspapers - located on the main floor rotunda area, the Newspaper Nook provides a relaxing place to sit and read current issues of the following newspapers - Tennessean, Nashville City Paper, USA Today, Wall Street Journal and Nashville Business Journal. Several electronic databases [Custom Newspapers, Academic OneFile and ProQuest] have significant full text backfiles of major newspapers such as the New York Times.
Trevecca and Church of the Nazarene historical documents are housed in the Archives collection, located on the ground floor of the library. Archival materials that are cataloged are indicated by the word 'Special' preceding the call number. To access the collection, it is requested that an appointment be made with the Archival Assistant, Andrea Gales
Video and DVD items can be searched in the online catalog. Limiting a search by 'Material Type-Audiovisual' will give a result list limited to video or DVD items. These are shelved on the ground floor in the IRC collection.
Searching other Libraries
Titles from your result list in ATHENA can be requested through Interlibrary Loan (ILL). There is no cost for ILL for current Trevecca students and faculty. Requests are typically filled within 10 days.
