The Instructional Resource Center provides various types of materials.  Juvenile books, laminating services, DVDs, educational kits, and more are available here.  iMac and media computers are available for high-quality media development.

Big Books, Charts, & Maps - Big books are children’s stories printed on large paper for the benefit of reading aloud to young children. They can be checked out for a 2-week period and are considered a part of the JUV collection. Check the circulation policies for restrictions related to check-out and use.

Boxes - Boxes are collections of various forms of media (for example a video and a workbook that go together). They can be checked out for a 1-week time period and cannot be renewed. The fine for an overdue box is $1 per day. Check the circulation policies for restrictions related to check-out and use.

CD Collection - We have a growing collection of classical and contemporary music that can be checked out for a 1-week period. The overdue fine for a CD is $1 per day. Check the circulation policies for restrictions related to check-out and use.

DVD Collection - Our DVD collection is made up of educational media requested by our professors. They can be checked out for a 1-week time period. The overdue fine for a DVD is $1 per day and they cannot be renewed. Check the circulation policies for restrictions related to check-out and use.

iMacs, Media Computers, & Faculty Workstation - The IRC provides numerous media/work stations equipped with scanners, color printers, video editing & copying equipment, and more. There are iMacs as well as PC’s available. These computers are only to be used for media projects and are reserved for the exclusive use of current students. There is also a faculty-only workstation available outside of archives.

IRC Circulation Desk - The IRC circulation desk will always be manned by at least one student assistant who can assist you with finding materials, purchasing supplies, and checking materials in or out.

Juvenile Book Collection - The JUV book collection is made of children’s literature: both fiction and non-fiction. The books can be checked out for 2-week time periods and you may check-out up to 10 books at a time. The fine for overdue JUV books is 10¢ per day. Kits Collection - The kits are hands on manipulative items that can be checked out for use in the classroom. They are available for a 2-week checkout period with a 2 kit limit at a time. Check the circulation policies for restrictions related to check-out and use.

Media Reserves Collection - The IRC media reserves collection is a place for faculty members to place videos and other multimedia items on reserve for their students. Check the reserves page for more information regarding reserves materials.

Media Study Rooms - The Media study rooms are small rooms equipped with media equipment (DVD player, TV, VCR, and stereo equipment) for use with research and study. These rooms are reserved current student use only and should only be used for media research.

Musical Scores Collection - The musical scores collection contains various classical and contemporary compositions. These can be checked out for a 2-week period with a limit of 2 at one time. Periodicals Collection (IRC) - The IRC contains a small periodical collection of educational or child-centered magazines. These periodicals cannot be checked out or removed from the library, but are available for use in the library to any patron.

Printing Options & Capabilities - The IRC contains two regular network printers, two color printers, and two poster printers available for use. The network printers cost 8¢ per copy and is automatically charged to student's account. Color copies are $1.00 per copy which must be paid upon use to the IRC. Poster printers are $5.00 per copy which must also be paid upon use to the IRC.  There is also a network copying machine located beside the IRC desk.  This copier requires a network login ID.  This ID is typically the last 4 digits of your social security number followed by the last six digits of your Trevecca ID number.  The library staff can help you contact ITS to verify your number.

Production Center & Christian Education Curriculum - The IRC contains a workroom with various production equipment including Ellison dye cuts, markers, crayons, scissors, glue, and various forms of paper which is available at varied prices. There is also a collection of Sunday School Curriculum available for use within the library only. This material cannot be checked out. Laminating is also available and materials can be picked up the next business day after it is dropped off for the IRC staff to laminate.

Reference Collection (IRC) - The IRC contains a small collection of reference materials that are pertinent to children or education. This collection can be used by any patron, but may not be checked out or removed from the library.

Small Groups Devotional Materials - There is a collection of small group devotional materials available to students, faculty, and area pastors for a 3-week check out period. These materials were specially selected by the Office of the Chaplain to support the partnership between Trevecca Nazarene University and the Southeast Educational Region of the Church of the Nazarene. Teaching Aids & Activity Books - Teaching aids and activity books are materials designed specifically to help teachers with lesson ideas and plans. They can be checked out for a 2-week period with a 3 item limit at one time. Check the circulation policies for restrictions related to check-out and use.

Textbooks (K-12) Collection - The IRC houses a collection of elementary, middle, and high school text books which support the Metro-Nashville Public Schools' curriculum. These can be checked out for a 2-week period with a 6 item limit at one time. Check the circulation policies for restrictions related to check-out and use. As a general policy, Waggoner Library does not purchase textbooks which are used for current TNU courses.
