Q: Are there any prerequisites?
A: There are no required prerequisites for either program. Students who do not have any background in accounting or finance are recommended (not required) to take a lower level course (i.e., online or tutorial) in order for them to learn the basics of accounting and/or finance. Students may aso consider purchasing a tutorial like the “MBA Survival Kit” CD set. This tutorial is a very useful tool for the accounting and finance courses, especially for those advancing to the higher-level MBA courses.
Q: For students who want to earn the MBA, may they show proof they completed the MSM coursework during the interim period between the two degrees?
A: Yes, a letter can be generated for the student or employer to show proof that the student completed the coursework for the MSM degree, but the letter will state that the student will not receive recognition of that degree since he or she has chosen to continue on to the MBA.
Q: May I transfer in any previous graduate work?
A: Because of the lockstep nature of the program and the highly integrated and accelerated curriculum, transfer credit is not automatic. Transfer courses are carefully evaluated by personnel in the graduate office, and credit will be applied as appropriate for this program. Students have the option to submit up to 6 hours of graduate level work for transfer. Transcripts, a course description, and syllabus from the course must be submitted.
